I received my Ph.D. in Music with a concentration in Music Theory from the University of Georgia where I studied under Adrian Childs. I received my M.M. degree in Music Theory from Georgia State University studying under music theory pedagogue Susan Tepping. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Flute Performance from Spelman College where I studied under jazz musician Joseph Jennings.
For the past 5 years, I have been teaching Music Theory and Music Appreciation classes as an adjunct at different institutions in Georgia. I also have been teaching applied music lessons online for wind instruments and piano.
The enjoyment of my discipline starts with me as the instructor. Enthusiasm or the lack thereof is contagious. I have a passion for music theory, musical analysis, composition, Jazz, and music research. It is my goal to inspire that same passion in my students.
